Summer 1992 - Planet T.V. and radio - 3 weeks placement from college at a home entertainment repair firm repairing customer warranty returns and factory failures. Employment: June 1993 - October 1993: Phaselec LTD, joined as apprentice electrician / electronics engineer which largely involved the repair of industrial control systems and installation of electrical wiring/ fittings in new buildings. October 1993 - July 1996: Yorkshire Cable LTD, joined as trainee installation / service technician working on cable television and telephony equipment. After 8 months I was promoted to service technician which involved entering customers premises to carry out various repairs etc. to television and telephony equipment. July 1996 - April 1997: Baron Systems LTD, employed as a bench repair engineer repairing computer monitors, terminals, printers, P.C`s and other related equipment. I also was responsible for ordering parts for equipment and the upkeep of the engineering spare stores. July 1997 – March 2002: Videss Computers LTD, I am employed as a workshop engineer where I repair computer monitors, PCs, servers and laser printers to component level. I have also worked on large servers configuring RAID arrays and setting up the system hardware. I have done some field service work where I repaired PCs and printers on site, monitors are done in the workshop. I am also responsible for sourcing and ordering electronic components and parts. March 2002 - Present: ICM PLC where I am employed as a bench engineer repairing PC monitors, desktops, servers, UPS, printers and other PC equipment to component level. Recently, I have been involved in removing virus infections from entire networks, this involved going round each PC putting right the damage the viruses caused and then installing Netshield, a well known corporate anti-virus suite from Network Associates.
